Finding leads with AI Search

How AI Search works: describe your audience or use filters and signals, let Goji research the web when needed, read the enriched people and company data, add prospects to an agent, a list or a CSV, and what it costs.

AI Search is the fastest way to build a targeted list of prospects on demand. Describe who you're looking for in plain English, or combine filters and buying signals, and Goji searches our directory of people and companies (and the web, when needed) to bring back qualified, enriched leads you can add to an agent or a list in one click.

What is AI Search?

Your agents work continuously in the background to find leads that match your ideal customer profile. AI Search is the complement for the moments when you need a specific list right now: a batch of CMOs at companies that just raised money, the sales leaders of a competitor's customers, decision-makers in a city you're visiting next week.

You'll find it in the left-hand menu under Search. Under the hood, it draws on Gojiberry's directory of tens of millions of professionals and their companies, kept up to date and enriched with the information a salesperson actually needs:

  • About the person: job title, LinkedIn headline, location, number of LinkedIn connections, recent LinkedIn activity, whether they recently changed job or are open to work.

  • About the company: headcount, industry, website and social pages, description, last funding round, number of open job postings, and the technologies the company uses.

Searching and browsing is free. You only spend credits when you decide to add prospects to your workspace, at 0.5 credit per prospect (see What it costs below).

Two ways to search

When you open Search, Goji asks you one question: Who are you looking for? You can answer in your own words, or skip straight to the filters.

1. Describe your audience

Type a description of your ideal prospects in the search bar, exactly as you would explain it to a colleague, and press Search. Goji reads your request and turns it into the right combination of filters and signals. For example:

  • VP Sales at Financial Services companies in New York with 50–500 employees

  • Founders at tech companies that are hiring

  • Marketing leaders at companies that recently raised funds

  • Decision-makers at companies that recently opened a new office in the US

The AI Search start screen: a search bar asking Who are you looking for, four example prompts and an Or start with filters link

The start screen. Click one of the example prompts to see how Goji interprets it, or write your own.

Once Goji has analyzed your request, the filter panel opens on the left with every filter it understood already selected (job titles, industries, company size, location, signals…). The matching prospects appear on the right, and the search bar stays at the top so you can refine your request at any time.

After searching for VP Sales at Financial Services companies in New York, the filter panel shows the industries, company sizes, job titles and location Goji selected, next to 3,860 matching contacts

Goji translated "VP Sales at Financial Services companies in New York with 50–500 employees" into two job titles, one industry group, two company-size brackets and a location: 3,860 prospects.

💡 Check what Goji understood

The filter panel is your source of truth. If a filter is missing or too broad, adjust it directly; the results update automatically about a second after each change, no need to search again.

2. Start with filters

Prefer to build the search yourself? Click Or start with filters under the search bar. The four filter groups (Company, Contact, Location and Signals) open on the left, and results appear as soon as you set your first filter. Every group shows a badge with the number of filters active inside it, and Clear all resets everything. The All the available filters section below lists them all.

When Goji researches the web for you

Some of the best buying signals don't exist as a filter: a company that just opened an office in a new country, a team that announced a partnership, a brand that sponsored a specific event. When your description contains a criterion like this, Goji switches to web research mode:

  1. Goji searches the internet for people and companies that match your request, reading news, press releases, company pages and public posts. This takes up to a minute; a progress message is shown while it works.

  2. Each lead is matched against the Gojiberry directory so you get the same enriched profile as for any other search (headcount, industry, funding, hiring…). Leads we can't match are left out rather than shown incomplete.

  3. Every result explains why it qualifies. In the Signals column, a sparkle badge summarizes what Goji found (for example "Opened a Denver office in March 2026"). When Goji verified the fact on a specific page, the badge links to that source so you can check it yourself and reuse it in your outreach.

Web research in progress. Results typically arrive within a minute.

Web research results with a banner explaining the leads were found by Goji on the web, and a sparkle badge in the Signals column describing why each lead qualifies

A banner reminds you these leads come from web research. Each sparkle badge is Goji's reason for including the lead; click it to open the source.

The prospect card of a lead found by web research: the Signals section shows Goji's finding, Company opened a new Midtown New York City office in July 2026, with a Source link, followed by the company's hiring signal

Open the prospect card to read the full finding and its source, next to the usual enriched company data.

Need more? Scroll to the bottom of the results and click Find more contacts. Goji runs the same research again while excluding the leads it already showed you, so each round adds new names.

The end of the web research results with blurred placeholder rows and a Find more contacts button

"Find more contacts" keeps researching with the same criteria and appends new leads to the table.

ℹ️ Filters still work in web research mode

The filter panel narrows the researched leads (by title, company size, location…) without launching a new search. If a filter removes every lead, clear it to see the full list again. To go back to a classic directory search, clear the prompt or click Ask AI again.

All the available filters

Filters are grouped into four sections. You can combine as many as you like across sections; each additional filter narrows the list further.

The Company filter section: company name search, company size, industries and company keywords

Company filters.

The Contact filter section: job titles, keyword and number of connections

Contact filters.

The Location filter section with a New York chip selected

Location filter.

The Signals filter section: Company has raised funds, Hiring right now, Recent activity, Recently changed position and Technologies used

Signals filters.

Company

Filter

What it does

Company name

Type at least 3 characters to search the company directory and pick one or more exact companies. Results are then limited to people working at those companies, which is ideal for account-based prospecting.

Company size

Headcount brackets: 1–10, 11–50, 51–200, 201–500, 501–1,000, 1,001–5,000, 5,001–10,000 and 10,000+ employees. Select several to cover a range.

Industries

A two-level list (for example Technology, Information and Media → Software Development). Selecting a category selects all its sub-industries; you can also pick individual sub-industries.

Company keywords

Free text matched against the company's name, location, description and keywords. Separate words with spaces: every word must appear, in any order (e.g. cybersecurity SaaS).

Contact

Filter

What it does

Job titles

Pick from suggested titles or type your own. Common shorthands are expanded automatically (searching CEO also finds Chief Executive Officer; VP Sales also finds Vice President of Sales, Head of Sales…).

Keyword

Free text matched against the person's job title, LinkedIn headline, location or industry, for example fintech or blockchain.

Number of connections

How connected the person is on LinkedIn: fewer than 100, 101–250, 251–499 or 500+. Useful to focus on active networkers (or, conversely, on quieter profiles that receive fewer messages).

Location

Start typing and pick from the suggestions: countries, regions, states and cities are all accepted (United States, Île-de-France, Texas, Berlin…). You can add up to 6 locations; each appears as a chip you can remove with one click.

Signals

Signals are what make a list timely rather than just accurate. Turn on any of the five signals below to keep only prospects whose company or profile shows that signal. They are explained in detail in the next section.

Understanding signals

Signals appear both as filters and as colored badges in the results, so you can see at a glance why a prospect is worth contacting now.

Signal

What it means

Why it matters

Company has raised funds

The company closed a funding round in the last 12 months. The badge shows the month of the round (e.g. Raised May 2026); hover for the exact date.

Fresh budget and growth targets: newly funded companies buy tools and services to scale.

Hiring right now

The company has at least one active job posting. The badge shows how many openings we found.

A hiring company is growing, and open roles tell you which teams are expanding.

Recent activity

The person posted, commented or reacted on LinkedIn in the last 90 days.

Active members read their inbox. Your message is far more likely to be seen and answered.

Recently changed position

The person started their current role in the last 3 months.

New hires review vendors and want quick wins; it's the best moment to introduce yourself.

Technologies used

The company uses at least one of the technologies you selected (CRM, marketing automation, cloud providers, e-commerce platforms…). Search the list to find yours.

Target companies that use a tool you integrate with, or that rely on a competitor's product.

AI research (web research mode only)

Goji's own explanation of why this lead matches your request, with a link to the page where it was verified.

Gives you a ready-made, factual hook for your first message.

Results for Marketing leaders at companies that recently raised funds: the Signals column shows Raised badges with the month of the round and the number of job openings found

Signals in the results table: funding badges in green, job openings in blue. Activity, position-change and technology badges appear when those filters are on.

Reading the results

Results are displayed 25 per page (switch to 50 or 100 with Rows per page), with the total number of matching prospects at the top. The columns are: Name, Job title, Company (with website), Company size, Industry, Location, LinkedIn connections and Signals. Drag a column border to resize it.

Why are last names blurred?

Until you add a prospect, you see their first name, photo and every professional detail, but their last name and LinkedIn profile are hidden. This keeps the directory free to browse while making sure you only pay for the people you actually want. The full identity is revealed the moment you add the prospect to your workspace.

The prospect card

Click any row to open the prospect card, the full enriched profile of the person and their company:

  • Signals: a timeline of everything that makes this lead timely (funding round and date, number of open roles, AI research findings with their source).

  • Prospect: LinkedIn headline, job title, location and number of connections.

  • Company: logo, links to the website, LinkedIn page and, when available, YouTube and Crunchbase, plus exact headcount, industry, last funding round, active job openings and the company description.

The prospect card of a VP of Marketing: signals (funding round, 11 open roles), prospect details and the company block with headcount, industry, last funding round, active job openings and description

The prospect card gathers everything we know about the person and the company, before you spend a single credit.

Prospects you already have

If a prospect is already in your Contacts, the row shows Already in your contacts. You can still select it, but it won't be imported again and won't cost anything: the Add button only counts genuinely new prospects.

Adding prospects to an agent, a list or a CSV

Once you've found the right people, adding them takes a few seconds.

  1. Select the prospects. Tick the checkbox at the start of each row, or the checkbox in the header to select the whole page. The button at the top right updates to Add N prospects.

Five prospects selected in the results table, with the Add 5 prospects button highlighted in the top-right corner

  2. Click Add N prospects and choose where they should go:

    • Agent: the prospects join one of your agents and enter its outreach sequence right away. Perfect when the list is ready to be contacted.

    • List: the prospects are saved in a list to review, enrich or launch later. You can create a new list on the spot.

    • Export CSV: the prospects are imported into an export list named after your search and downloaded as a .csv file (also sent to you by email). If you add enrichment, the file arrives by email in about 5 minutes, the time it takes to find the data.

  3. Choose optional enrichment. Tick Include work email and/or Include phone number to enrich the prospects as they're imported. The cost summary shows exactly what will be charged before you confirm.

The Add 5 prospects window: Agent, List or Export CSV destinations, an agent selector, enrichment options and a cost summary of 5 new prospects plus email enrichment for a total of 7.5 credits

Five new prospects with work email enrichment: 2.5 credits for the prospects + 5 credits for the emails = 7.5 credits.

  4. Confirm. The import runs in the background: each row shows Import in progress… then Imported, and the full names appear. Your prospects are now in Contacts with their LinkedIn profile, ready to be contacted.

💡 Keep the AI's research

When you add leads found through web research, Goji's reason for selecting each of them (and its source) is saved with the contact, so your agents and teammates can use it in their messages.

What it costs

Searching, filtering, opening prospect cards and running web research are free and unlimited. Credits are spent only when you add prospects to your workspace:

Action

Details

Cost

Add a prospect

Reveals the full identity and LinkedIn profile, and adds the person to your Contacts (and to the agent or list you chose). Charged once per new prospect, never for people already in your workspace.

0.5 credit
(2 prospects per credit)

Include work email

Finds a verified professional email address for each imported prospect.

+1 credit / prospect

Include phone number

Finds a direct phone number for each imported prospect.

+10 credits / prospect

Credits come from your team's shared balance, visible at the bottom of the left-hand menu. To learn how the balance works and how to top it up, read Understanding and managing your credits.

💡 You only pay for what you get

If a prospect can't be imported, its 0.5 credit is returned to your balance. Likewise, email and phone enrichment are refunded whenever we can't find the information. Refunds appear as green "+" lines in your credit usage history.

⚠️ Not enough credits for the whole selection?

Gojiberry imports as many prospects as your balance allows and skips the rest; the skipped rows simply stay selectable. Top up your credits and add them again.

Tips for better searches

  • Be specific in your prompt. "Heads of Sales at fintech scale-ups in London that are hiring" gives Goji a role, an industry, a size, a location and a signal to work with. "Sales people" doesn't.

  • Stack one or two signals. A few hundred prospects at companies that both raised funds and are hiring will outperform a list of 50,000 that merely match a title.

  • Use company keywords for niches. Industries are broad by design; Company keywords lets you target "veterinary software" or "solar installers" precisely.

  • Prospect by account. Add the exact companies you care about with the Company name filter, then refine by title to find the right people in each.

  • Read the prospect card before adding. The company description, headcount and open roles tell you in ten seconds whether the account is worth a credit.

  • Save to a list when in doubt. Lists are a great staging area: import, review in Contacts, then push the best ones to an agent.

  • Turn a great search into an agent. If a search keeps producing good leads, create an agent with the same profile so new matches arrive every week without you searching.

AI Search vs. Agents

Both find leads from the same directory and the same signals, but they answer different needs:

AI Search

Agents

Best for

A precise list you need today: an event, a territory, an account list, a one-off campaign.

A steady flow of new leads matching your ICP, week after week.

How leads arrive

You search, review and pick each prospect yourself.

Automatically, on a schedule, based on your ICP and signals.

Web research

Yes, for criteria that don't exist as filters.

Through signal and lookalike sources.

Outreach

Add the prospects to an agent to start their sequence.

Built in: leads enter the agent's sequence as they're found.

A good rhythm: let your agents fill the pipeline continuously, and use AI Search whenever a specific opportunity calls for a hand-picked list.

Frequently asked questions

Does searching cost credits?

No. Searching, filtering, web research and opening prospect cards are free and unlimited. You only spend credits when you add prospects to your workspace.

Where does the data come from, and how fresh is it?

The directory combines public professional profiles, company registries, funding and job-posting data, and the technologies detected on company websites. It is refreshed continuously, and signals such as funding, hiring and recent activity are recomputed regularly so they stay timely.

Why do I see fewer results on a page than expected?

Some profiles are removed at the last moment (for example when their picture or profile can't be validated) so you never pay for an incomplete prospect. The total at the top is still accurate.

Will I be charged twice for the same prospect?

No. A prospect is activated once and stays in your workspace. If they show up in a later search, the row reads Already in your contacts and they're excluded from the count and the cost.

What's the difference between adding to an agent and adding to a list?

Adding to an agent starts outreach immediately with that agent's sequence. Adding to a list only saves the prospects so you can review, enrich or organize them first, and add them to an agent later from Contacts.

Can I get the emails and phone numbers later instead of at import?

Yes. Import the prospects without enrichment, then use Enrich Email or Enrich Phone in Contacts whenever you need them. The price is the same (1 credit per email, 10 per phone number), and unsuccessful lookups are refunded.

The web research came back empty. What can I do?

Rephrase your request with more concrete facts (a country, a period, a type of event), or remove criteria that are very niche. Only people whose profile exists in our directory are returned, so extremely small or brand-new companies may not appear yet. You can also switch to the filters to build a similar list from the directory.

Are there limits on how many prospects I can add?

The only limit is your credit balance. If it can't cover your whole selection, we import as many prospects as possible and leave the others selectable so you can add them after topping up.

Can I use AI Search through the API?

Yes. The same directory is available to developers through the Gojiberry API, with a free search endpoint and a reveal endpoint at the same price per lead.
