How AI Messages work (very important)

AI Messages are unique, hyper-personalized messages created for each lead.

Gojiberry generates them using:

  • The person’s LinkedIn profile

  • Their activity / intent signal

  • Their company + role

  • Your ICP and offer

  • The company information you’ve entered in the Workspace

These messages are:

  • Available for the IceBreaker, Follow Up and Email messages.

  • Different for every single contact

  • Much more natural and contextual than generic messages

This is one of Gojiberry’s most powerful features.

What the AI uses to generate messages

The quality of AI messages depends entirely on the quality of the inputs. The AI pulls from four sources:

  1. The lead's LinkedIn profile - their role, company, headline, and recent activity

  2. The intent signal - why this lead was found (e.g. they commented on a competitor's post, just changed jobs, etc.)

  3. The company description - set in Settings >Workspace. This is the most important input. If it's empty or vague, the AI has nothing to work with.

  4. The AI template - the style guide the customer creates to define their tone, structure, and messaging angle

  5. The AI prompt - a well defined AI prompt that has detailed rules, tone of voice, instructions, variables, conditions, etc.

How to set the Workspace information

The information inside the Workspace section in the Gojiberry settings account is one of the most crucial aspects when the AI creates the messages. Therefore it is important that you enter enough information so our AI can pick it up and use it in the messaging. Here is how to set it up:

  1. Enter the company name

  2. Put the website (optional)

  3. Select your industry

  4. Select the company size

  5. Company description (crucial)
    - We recommend that you enter a longer description of your company and business. The more information you enter here the better.

  6. Pain points:
    - Provide information about what your target customers are experiencing as a pain point and how your product or service is fixing that.

  7. Key Features
    - List the main features of your product/service e.g “ICP Filtering - Every lead is pre-filtered to match your ideal buyer profile before any outreach begins, so you're not wasting effort on poor-fit prospects. “

  8. Social proof
    - If you have, you can insert some social proof for your company. You can use results, clients name, testimonials etc. E.g we have helped over 1000 companies source better products. or. We’ve helped companies such as “brand” streamline their hiring process…

How templates work

With Gojiberry's Custom Templates & Prompts feature, you can create tailor-made templates and custom prompts for LinkedIn messages, Emails, icebreakers, follow-ups, and closing messages. Templates define the overall structure of the message, while prompts control precisely how Gojiberry generates the content. This gives you complete control over your tone and sales methodology while continuing to leverage Gojiberry's rich lead and company context.

By writing custom prompts, you can explicitly guide the AI on tone (e.g., direct, conversational, technical, or playful), specific focus areas, desired calls to action (CTAs), and custom writing rules. If you aren't a prompt engineering expert, Gojiberry offers ready-to-use, pre-built approaches that you can adopt immediately or customize to fit your brand.

In addition, follow-up messages automatically consider the context of previous messages to ensure full conversational coherence, and built-in safety guardrails prevent custom prompts from breaking the underlying generation logic.

How to set your AI Template for Campaigns

You can define an outreach template that Gojiberry AI will automatically improve and personalize for every lead entering your campaigns.

You can create your own AI templates via the "AI outreach templates" tab in the Gojiberry account settings:

Here is a short guide on how to create an AI template:

  1. Choose the channel that you want to create a template for (email or LinkedIn)

  2. Pick the message sequence that the template will be used on, IceBreaker, Follow-Up or Closing.

  3. You can click on the "Need inspiration" button to see the predefined templates to get a few examples on how to use the template creation and the AI prompt to guide the message generation.

  4. Add your copy (optional) and other variables in the template editor

  5. AI prompt (crucial) add your AI prompt and instructions for the message generation in the field. You can modify the AI prompt from the predefined templates or create one from scratch.

  6. Once you have the template copy, and AI prompt click "generate" button to create a message for one of your contacts.

  7. After you've created your template make sure to use it in the correct campaign step.

What a good template includes:

  • A sample opening line that reflects the customer's tone (conversational, direct, curious)

  • A reference to intent or context (e.g. "I noticed you [signal]...")

  • A soft CTA — a question, not a pitch

  • Written in first person, as if the customer wrote it themselves

  • Short — 3–4 lines maximum

  • A well defined AI prompt that gives clear instructions and rules for the message creation

The "lead magnet" approach is one of the most effective ways to boost reply rates. By offering a valuable “freebie”, such as a custom blueprint, detailed case study, targeted e-book, or complimentary analysis you deliver immediate value to prospects, establishing trust before asking for their time.

How to Execute

The key is to minimize friction. Do not ask for a meeting upfront; ask for permission to send a resource.

Lead with value: Offer a specific solution to a known pain point.

Keep the CTA low-friction: Use a simple, non-committal question (e.g., "Would you be interested in seeing the blueprint?").

Optimize for "Yes": A simple "Yes" reply is a high-intent signal that outperforms an immediate request for a meeting.

Example phrasing: "I put together a [freebie] on [Topic] that helps solve [Pain Point]. Would you like me to send it over?"

Here are 2 examples to help you set this up:

Template 1:

[FirstName], I spent some time looking into what you're doing at [Company] as [Role], and noticed that I might have a good idea for you guys.

We've already worked with a few companies in the [Company Context] space, and I put together a quick blueprint showing how we could help you save money and improve.

Can I send it over to you?

AI instructions:

Role

Write as [SenderFullName] from [SenderCompany]. You believe what [SenderCompany] does may be genuinely useful to [FirstName] or [Company].

Goal

Create a short, personalized message that makes [FirstName] curious about a relevant opportunity without feeling like a sales pitch.

Tone of Voice

Confident, positive, practical and conversational. Keep the language simple and human. Avoid marketing buzzwords.

Template 2

[FirstName], I was looking at what you're doing at [Company] and had a couple of ideas that could help.

I noticed a few opportunities around [Company Context] that might be worth exploring, and I put together a quick blueprint with some ideas on how you could improve your current process.

Would you be interested in taking a quick look?

AI Instructions

Start from what matters to [FirstName] and [Company], not from [SenderCompany].

Research [Company] and [FirstName]'s role to find one relevant business context or opportunity.

Use specific personalization only when it adds relevance; never force it.

Focus on one positive outcome, such as saving money, improving efficiency, selling more or getting more from their current process.

Avoid criticizing their current approach or assuming they have a problem.

Mention a quick blueprint or ideas when relevant.

CTA: use a simple, positive, low-pressure question.

What to avoid in templates:

  • Starting with "I" or the customer's name

  • Mentioning the product or pitching immediately

  • Being too formal or corporate

  • Including placeholders like [industry] that may not be filled in at send time — these will be sent as-is if the AI can't populate them

Assigning a template to a campaign

Creating a template in settings does nothing on its own. It must be assigned to a campaign to take effect.

How to assign: Campaign > Edit the step > select the template in the AI message settings

How to preview an AI message before sending

You can preview what a lead will receive.

Steps:

  1. Open any contact in your Contacts, List or inside the Campaign contacts

  2. On the right panel, under the Campaign sequence click on the message step that you want to preview

  3. Click View message

  4. Preview the message, (you can also edit it and save)

You will see a real example of what the lead will receive.

How to change the language of AI messages

AI messages use the preferred language defined in your account. This serves as the default language setting, but campaign-level overrides can be applied for specific campaigns.

To change it:

  1. Go to Settings → Account

  2. Change your Preferred Language

  3. Save

In the outreach agent:

  1. Click Campaign

  2. Click on the "settings" link in the campaign

  3. Choose the preferred language for the campaign

  4. Click Save

All future AI messages will use that language.
