There are 4 main reasons that can explain this:
1 / You launched your agent very recently
A Signal Agent does not search for leads continuously in the sense of scanning all signals at once. It runs 24/7, but it only explores around 2–3 signals per day, in several batches.
That means that if your Signal Agent was launched only a few hours ago, or even 1 or 2 days ago, it may not yet have explored all your signals. As a result, it may simply not have reached the signals with the highest potential to generate leads.
→ If your agent was launched less than 3 days ago, it is recommended to wait 1 or 2 more days before making changes, in order to get a clearer view of the results.
2 / Your ICP is too narrow
If your Signal Agent has been running for more than 3–4 days and the number of leads is still very low (or even zero), one possible reason is that your ICP is too narrow.
An ICP can be too narrow for several reasons:
The scope of the search is too limited.
Your target job titles are too specific (or do not really exist)
If only very specific job titles are used, especially titles that are uncommon, the search scope can become too narrow.
→ It is recommended to adjust your target job titles by correcting them if needed and adding more titles from the same domain as the ones you absolutely want to target.
You do not have enough target industries
If you selected fewer than 3 industries, especially in a niche market, the search scope may be too limited.
→ It is recommended to add a few more industries in order to broaden the search scope.
Your ICP filters are too restrictive
One clue that can help identify this: go to Signal Agents → See previous launches. If the agent is analyzing a high number of profiles (more than 100) but still not identifying any leads, your ICP filters may be too strict.
What can make your ICP too narrow?
Mandatory keywords
This is the most restrictive ICP filter. If a mandatory keyword does not appear on a LinkedIn profile, the Signal Agent will not include that profile in the contact list, even if it matches 100% of the other ICP criteria.
→ If you are using mandatory keywords, it is recommended to remove them.
Your lead matching mode is set to High Precision while your search scope is already limited
If your search scope is already not very large, using High Precision as your lead matching mode can make the filtering too restrictive.
→ In that case, it is recommended to switch your lead matching mode to Discovery.
3 / The signals scanned so far are not relevant to your ICP
A non-relevant signal is a signal where your ICP has very little chance of being present.
Here is an example:
You are an expert in 2 accounting software tools (AS1 and AS2), and you are based in Sweden.
You want to find people in Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Finland, and Sweden who may be interested in your expertise in these accounting tools.
Your ICP location = Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Sweden
And two of your signals are:
Signal 1 (Companies & competitors): the LinkedIn page of the small US company that developed accounting software AS1.
Signal 2 (Companies & competitors): the LinkedIn page of the small Danish company that developed accounting software AS2.
In this example, the ICP location is relevant ✅
However, Signal 1 is not relevant ❌ because the company is a small company based in the US, which means there is a very low chance that people from Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Finland, or Sweden have interacted with its LinkedIn page. As a result, the Signal Agent is unlikely to find ICP leads through this signal.
→ If some of the signals given to your Signal Agent are not relevant, they should be replaced with more relevant ones.
4 / The signals scanned so far are not active
What is a non-active signal?
If a LinkedIn company page or profile page (including your own page) does not post frequently or does not generate engagement on its posts, that signal is not active and is therefore not very relevant to use.
For the Engagement & Interest signal, it is better to avoid overly broad keywords such as “marketing” or “sales”, because they generate broad and unspecific results.
Instead, it is recommended to use more specific keywords related to your target audience, such as “lead generation,” “CRM software,” “AI in marketing,” or any other term directly linked to the interests and challenges of your target audience.
The idea is to focus on keywords related to specific problems or niche solutions, rather than broad terms.

By using this article, you should be able to identify what may be limiting your lead generation and make the necessary adjustments to your ICP or signals.
After making changes, it is recommended to wait a few days to allow the Signal Agent to explore the signals again.
If after a few days the results are still not improving, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you review your setup.
