How to Create a Campaign for First Degree Connections?

If you want to reach out to people you're already connected with on LinkedIn, you'll need to set up a campaign without an invitation step.

Step 1 — Create a new agent and choose Existing Leads as your source.

Go to Outreach Agents and create a new agent. On the Sources screen, select Existing Leads so the agent pulls from a list you already have in Gojiberry.

Step 2 — Choose Manual Setup for your outreach sequence.

When you reach the Outreach step (step 4 in the setup), select Manual Setup instead of Create with AI. This gives you full control over the steps in your sequence.

Step 3 — Delete the invitation step and disable Automatically exclude 1st degree.

Once inside the sequence builder, you will see Send Invitation as Step 1. Click the trash icon on the right side of that card to remove it.

Step 4 — Your sequence now starts directly with a message.

After removing the invitation, your campaign will start directly with a LinkedIn message. From here you can add as many follow-up steps as needed.

Step 5: Check the skip 1st degree setting.

Make sure the option to skip 1st degree connections is turned off. If this is active, your 1st degree leads will be excluded from outreach, which defeats the purpose of this setup. Confirm it's disabled before launching.

Step 6: Launch your campaign.

Once the invitation step is removed and the skip setting is off, your campaign is ready to message your existing connections directly.
